Mmmm…. February
Smells like chocolate. Okay, not really, but it might as well with all the candy, candy everywhere. Speaking of which, I got a free sample of these from the grocery and they are SO GOOD. I totally wish I had NOT tried them.
But seriously, how is it already February? I feel like I survived January, but I definitely didn’t feel like I thrived. Not so great for someone leading Simple Steps to Thrive, huh? I always want to be real and honest with you though. I’m not some gal who always has it all figured out. I’m on the road with you, figuring it out one step at a time.
When it gets messy and I feel like I’ve been in survival mode, I take some time to ask myself why. What’s weighing me down? What’s holding me back, or causing distractions? And I keep praying this prayer: Lord, what do I need more of today? What do you have for me today? Maybe you need to ask yourself some of these questions too?
We have to put on our oxygen masks first, before we can help others.
Start in His Presence. Begin & work from a place of rest. Go in peace.
That’s my plan, and I’m sticking to it.
What’s yours?

9 chocolate lessons from Bob Ross
Okay, seriously. What’s up with the Email Subject Line Generator this week? Last week it was “The Arnold Schwarzenegger of Joy”. This week “9 Chocolate Lessons from Bob Ross.” I had to go with it. It was too funny NOT to share.
But I also don’t want to be click-baity. So in case you ACTUALLY wanted the 9 chocolate lessons from Bob Ross, check these out to your heart’s content!
We’re Totally Trying These:
They say this VIRAL RECIPE made the grocery stores in Finland run out of Feta Cheese. What?! It’s gotta be good.
I’m trying to talk my guys into trying this one with me. Trashy Tamales from the Lazy Genius.
ICYMI ( In Case You Missed It)… Wanna Read with Me?
I’m currently reading Slowing Down to the Speed of Life: How to Create a More Peaceful, Simpler Life from the Inside Out by Richard Carlson & Joseph Bailey.
Wanna read it with me?
I started a simple little book club on Goodreads. For INTROVERTS like me. 100% online. No zooms. No schedules to coordinate. No getting dressed up cute to participate. Not even a list of deep thinking questions to process. Just grab a copy, read it, and we’ll “discuss” our favorite takeaways in the comments… via keyboard, like God intended. (Just kidding extroverts. We love you too. And we NEED you. :) But that said, I’m hosting this book club from my comfort zone:
We'll discuss our favorite tidbits online on Thursday 2/25/2021. Asynchronously… on your own schedule / at your own pace.
Until Next Time…
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 15:5-6
