The Arnold Schwarzenegger of JOY
What does that even mean? IDK... but let's have some fun trying to find out. Tell me something GOOD!

Do more of what brings you joy
It’s been rainy and cold here, and I’ve not been in the mood to do much. Yesterday I decided to do something about it. I threw on my warmest sweats and a comfy old flannel, and rolled up the big bay door out in the studio warehouse. Making art and being creative brings me joy. Doing it while listening to the rain is even better. And something about painting with a blowtorch just doubles the fun. I can’t decide if it makes me feel like a tough biker chick
or Rosie the Riveter
but it DEFINITELY does this to my attitude:
Tell Me Something Good
No. Seriously. Tell me something GOOD that’s happened in your life lately. Did you know there’s a COMMENTS section at the end of the Thriveletter? Where we can ALL connect with each other? Click on the little speech bubble, and tell all of us something GOOD! Or reply to this email and tell me directly. Let’s all encourage each other with a bit of good news!
Just for the JOY of it
I dare you to watch this and not laugh…
We need some of these around here…
Wanna Read with Me?
I’m currently reading Slowing Down to the Speed of Life: How to Create a More Peaceful, Simpler Life from the Inside Out by Richard Carlson & Joseph Bailey.
Wanna read it with me?
I started a simple little book club on Goodreads. For INTROVERTS like me. 100% online. No zooms. No schedules to coordinate. No getting dressed up cute to participate. Not even a list of deep thinking questions to process. Just grab a copy, read it, and we’ll “discuss” our favorite takeaways in the comments… via keyboard, like God intended. (Just kidding extroverts. We love you too. And we NEED you. :) But that said, I’m hosting this book club from my comfort zone:
We'll discuss our favorite tidbits online on Thursday 2/25/2021. Asynchronously… on your own schedule / at your own pace.
THINGS WE LOVE
Take one minute here to hold on to hope. Such an easy way to bring calm into my day.
I’ve also been loving this hip stretch and this deep shoulder stretch. So good!
This workshop from Onsite looks amazing. …to help you establish practices and rhythms that equip you to live each day a little more grounded and centered. Not an affiliate or sponsored link. Just something I’m doing for myself and thought I’d share in case it serves you too... They explain it more here:
This Change Your Life Chicken recipe is on my list to try very soon. Hopefully it will expand our rotation of meals I teach teach the boys to cook for us. Score!
The Arnold Schwarzenegger of JOY
I really have no idea what that’s supposed to mean. Maybe this:
or this:
or this?
No clue. Honestly, it’s what came up in the headline generator when I typed in ‘joy’. But trying to figure it out has been sort of fun. And because of it, I stumbled across this podcast episode which is delightfully light and full of joy.
It’s titled Arnold Schwarzenegger vs. The Coronanvirus. It released last April, and it’s funny to remember how discombobulated (such a fun word, right?) we were when this whole CV19 year was just getting started. If you’re looking for 15 minutes of light and fun, check it out.
Until Next Time…
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26.
Before you go... Don’t forget…
