JOY. This is exactly how I feel when I drop in here to write you guys a quick note. It’s like joy and sunshine and daffodils and cool puffy white clouds on a bright blue sky:
and maybe a little bit of socially awkward goofball dancing when no one’s watching.
Your Simple Step to Thrive This Week:
Do something… or several somethings… just for the joy of it. Doesn’t need to be complicated or time consuming. Just add a little intention. Insert some next level joy into your day to day, just because you deserve it.
Maybe answer all your text messages with GIFS…
Go outside and raise your face to the sky and soak in the sunshine…
Wander through a neighborhood looking for spring blooms…
Grab your favorite peeps and sit on a patio sipping something delish and enjoy the human connection we’ve all been missing these last 12 months!
Personally, I’ve been spending more time in the studio painting with beeswax & a blowtorch. I’ll share more on the intersection of my art and Simple Steps to Thrive coming soon. Learning to do more of what brings me joy IS one of the simple steps to thrive that’s helping me the most right now.
So… what’s on your just for the joy of it list? Reply to this email or tag me on Instagram @michelle.r.acker or @simplestepstothrive. I’d love to hear you talk about your joy!
Just for the JOY of it
Do ya’ll follow Morgan Harper Nichols?
I binged on her podcast on the way down to Waco a few weeks ago. Her voice is just so lovely and soothing and she has such wise and beautiful words to share. Her most recent episode has art that coordinates with it and it’s pretty much the most brilliant idea ever, IMHO. I’ve also been living in this sweatshirt I got from her Garden24 shop:
It’s the perfect soft and cozy for those chilly mornings before it warms up outside. Not an affiliate or sponsored link. I’m just a raving fan of all things MHN over here wanting you to find all the goodness Morgan is planting in the world. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but her line of stickers is oh so swoony too.
Until Next Time…
Remember… Your JOY is someone else’s sunshine. Don’t be a hoarder with it.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift face toward you,
and give you peace..
xoxo,
Michelle Renee
